The aim is not to have a complete list of every great web site ever, but an inspiring collection. The websites here should be somehow unique and stand out from the average. They should express the author’s personality and values. The user experience should be in line with this, whatever that means. Of course, readability, intuitive navigation and ease of use is a big plus, but we are also looking for the artsy and weird, if that fits the author’s expression.

Most importantly, the websites included here should push the limits of the medium, inspire others and be plain awesome. The website’s content itself is explicitly not important. It can be scientific or personal, serious or entertaining, weird or wonderful.
